Full name of Madea is Mabel “Madea” Simmons. The character is created by Tyler Perry and it is played by Tyler Perry, Shedrick Garrett, Lewis Thompson. Madea is a tough elderly black woman.
Madea was born in Greensburg, Louisiana, on June 26, 1935. In her first play she was 68. Her first play was “I Can Do Bad All by Myself”. Madea was brought up in poverty and grew up living in shacks with her immediate family. Madea has stated that although her family didn’t have much, they had love.
In the films, it has been revealed that Madea used to be a stripper, and her stage names were Magnitude and Delicious. It is heavily implied that she was a prostitute as well. Madea was married with Johnny Simmons and had 4 children:
