Manoj Nelliyattu (M.Night) Shyamalan was born on 6th August 1970 in Pondicherry, India and he grew up in the posh suburban valley of Penn in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born to a family of medical practitioners, Shyamalan’s father wanted him to make his career in medicine; however, his mother wanted him to follow his passion. Shyamalan received the New York University’s Scholarship where he pursued his career in Arts and Film Making and there he adopted ‘Night’ as his middle name. He is an ardent fan of Steven Spielberg and before releasing the movies he decide on 45 of them back at home. On releasing his each new film in the theatres, he often attaches his short movies which he created at home that represented that particular genre.
